Prowine thanks devoted customers and suppliers and previews bottling line relocations
November 2010
August 31st and as it turned out the gods decided to shine upon us with a balmy 20◦C forecast, not that it really mattered as Cookie had cleared a section of warehouse to hold our open day indoors. So with some strategically placed pallets of glass, a few bar tables and palms, and some red carpet we were ready. The morning was enjoyed by some 30 suppliers savouring the toils of David Pierro – Barista extraordinaire who brought along 2 superb single origin coffees and a selection of sweet treats.
From Midday the mood changed slightly with the arrival of key clients from Prowine and Nuriootpa Traders. Owen Andrews brought forth a medley of brilliant finger foods as the bar provided some select refreshments for those in need. The day was of course not about the great food, nor the fine coffee and not even to imbibe in the produce that we all care so much about. It was to catch up with current and prospective customers and to provide an insight into what has been happening at the Gawler site.
The big news is that we have now consolidated our filling operations to one hall. This necessitated moving the filler from the warehouse hall and repositioning it and the laboratory to the back purpose built production hall. This move saw us retire our oldest large filler to make sufficient space. As a direct consequence of this we have added a recopac carton packer to our smaller line which will give us more speed and extra flexibility for the various premium pack options that we utilise this filler for. This move will also allow us to better utilise the large tank farm at the back of hall 2, giving us extra wine holding capacity. This move was completed on Thursday 18th November, with no disruption to our bottling programs. A big thankyou to Chris and all our staff for a great job. The entire operation aside from the necessary electrical re wiring was handled entirely in house.
