According to Wine Grape Council of South Australia, the warm & dry weather we had helped produce quality grapes with intense colours and flavours across the South Australian region.
However, due to the low rainfall, the yield is slightly lower. Ms Bennier from the Wine Grape Council of South Australia, stated there was likely to be a 10-20 % drop in yield due to the two hot weather events in January and February, along with frost in the south-east region.
All in all, 2018 is a good year for quality wine and we will have something to look forward to in the coming few months – starting with the whites!
